Kicking off the New Year with a taste of the Mediterranean

Happy 2016…my year of presence.  That’s my “buzzword” for the year, just to be present in my life, with my family, and in all that I do.  What’s your buzzword for the New Year?  I’ve tossed out resolutions and opted just to focus on one key concept.

To kick off the New Year I was fortunate to join the crew of Great Day San Antonio and chat up the Mediterranean Diet.  Still ranked one of the best “diets” to follow, but as you know I’m not a fan of the word diet and prefer to refer to this as a great way of life.  Why?

Because all diets start on Monday and end Monday night…Tuesday if you’re lucky!

All kidding aside, the Mediterranean lifestyle continues to gain momentum. From the brain to the eyes to even regulating blood sugar the Mediterranean Diet is a healthy lifestyle to embrace! Check out my first segment here:

Huge thanks to my favorite Heartburn remedy: First Aid Shot Remedy (FAST–because it product_overview.heartburnworks so fast) and my husband’s new favorite Cold remedy!  We didn’t imbibe over the holidays otherwise I’d have been reaching for their Hangover shot, as well!  Hopefully, my friends who partied up at the Musicfest this year stocked up at HEB Grocery store on the Hangover shots!  Any shift in a diet can create heartburn. I stocked up while in Austin & San Antonio, because I may have enjoyed a bit too much barbecue and TexMex while home…Thank you FAST!  You saved me and helped me have a restful night.  I was thrilled to get to share on Great Day SA these easy to carry, medicine shots and get to work with them as a client.  They are in HEB now, and for my friends in Cali you can find them at CVS or Walgreens! Yay!  Here I am blogging about Heartburn & Hangovers!

Alright, need some inspiration on kicking off the New Year with Mediterranean flare?  Here’s my simple recipe for Gremolata (p 141 in my book, Mediterranean Diet Cookbook For Dummies):

  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup parsley
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Pinch of salt

Mix this up and see all the ways you can serve up Gremolata:

Huge thanks goes out to Great Day SA for having me and FAST (First Aid Shot Therapy) for making it possible!  Thanks y’all!
